Self Remedy

You weren’t meant to
happen but you were always
sneaking and lingering around
reminding me that you are existing,
you have two eyes and a heartbeat
that I never allowed to beat as I
watched several years pass by
me.

I drank my hate until
it was dry like the desert,
I drank my hurt until
I was too blind to see you.

I tried to push and
sell you out without a doubt
but I know you’re written all
over me inside and out, I was
an awful bastard with too
many selfish reckless
thoughts.

I drank my hate until
it was dry like the desert,
I drank my hurt until
I was too blind to see you
